Because we "evolved" from apes...
It would be more accurate to say that apes and we evolved from a common ancestor. Saying we specifically evolved from apes tends to confuse people like Larry King.
If we are further along on the evolutionary scale then why do we have to be squeezed into boxers or worse yet jockeys while the other knuckle dragging hairy primates get to run around hanging free?!?
